TRENDING DARAMA LAST EPISODE

style="text-align: center;"> ISHQ MURSHID

The episode, slated for a 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm slot, was preceded by an hour-long recap of previous episodes, a move that did not sit well with many loyal viewers who had eagerly awaited the culmination of the gripping storyline.

"Ishq Murshid," a production by Moomal Productions and MD Productions, directed by Farooq Rind and scripted by Abdul Khaliq Khan, had captivated audiences with its stellar performances and compelling narrative, featuring Bilal Abbas Khan and Durefishan Saleem in leading roles.

While the final episode was met with praise for its conclusion and the actors' remarkable performances, fans took to social media platforms to express their discontent with the prolonged recap session.

"It feels like a betrayal to have to sit through an hour of recap just to watch the finale," lamented one fan on Twitter, reflecting the sentiments of many others who echoed similar sentiments.

Some fans drew comparisons to other popular dramas, accusing "Ishq Murshid" of mimicking successful formulas without achieving the same impact. "They followed in the footsteps of 'Mere Paas Tum Ho,' but that drama was on a different level," remarked a disgruntled viewer.

The decision to delay the climax of "Ishq Murshid" with an extended recap left fans feeling deceived and agitated, with many expressing their disappointment at what they perceived as a missed opportunity to deliver a seamless viewing experience.

Successful drama serial Ishq Murshid premiered its last episode, bringing stardom to many artists involved in it. The drama’s OST also played an important part in its success, alongside Bilal Abbas Khan and Durefishan Saleem’s amazing on-screen chemistry. The viral song was sung by Ahmed Jahanzeb and Fabiha Hashmi. The singer was apparently not invited to attend the star-studded premiere of the last episode of the drama serial, held recently. Many of the cast and team members attended the show, as well as digital influencers. However, the team did not send an invite to Fabiha, as per the singer. This also led her to speak up on her social media about the injustice towards her.

Fabiha informed her fans about how she was completely ignored by the team, despite her contribution to the OST, which garnered great views internationally. She emphasised that female singers in Pakistan should be respected in the same way as male singers are treated. The singer added that she felt disrespected by the neglected treatement.

Hum TV recently made headlines for producing the hit drama series Ishq Murshid. The drama serial garnered a significant viewership on YouTube and also topped the rating charts. The OST of the drama managed to attract a separate fanbase as well. Ishq Murshid offered a beautiful love story between Shibra and Fazal Baksh that resonated well with fans, who grew to love them. Fans appreciated the fantasy created by the director.

HAMZA ALI ABBASI

 PYARE AFZAL

The discussion primarily centred on the striking conclusions of Meray Paas Tum Ho and Pyarey Afzal, both of which managed to evoke strong emotions from the audience.

Recalling the fervent reception to the conclusion of Meray Paas Tum Ho, Qamar recounted, "I witnessed intense public reactions at the cinema at the screening of Meray Paas Tum Ho’s last episode. The ending infuriated some women to the point that they started bashing me forcing their husbands to intervene."

Similarly, the culmination of Pyarey Afzal, a series starring Hamza Ali Abbasi and Ayeza Khan, also garnered a passionate response from the public. "I was once on a plane settling down when an elderly woman patted my back and asked, 'Why did you kill Afzal?'” Qamar shared, illustrating the impact of his work.

Elaborating further, Qamar revealed an incident involving Pyarey Afzal that had the potential to escalate. The writer recollected, "Pyarey Afzal’s drama’s final episode was screened in a cinema, leaving two girls emotional. Hamza advised us to leave to avoid angry fans," he recounted.

Delving into the rationale behind his creative choices, Qamar divulged, "I killed the character on Hamza’s request. He said, 'Please kill me in the drama, I want to stay alive forever in the audience’s heart.' I was moved by his enthusiasm and decided to kill the protagonist.”

Nadeem Baig is one of the finest and biggest directors of the Pakistani entertainment industry. He has given hits on hits and he is also the brains behind many other successful dramas that come out. He is also the director for two cult classic dramas Pyare Afzal and Mere Paas Tum Ho. Talking on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast, he opened up about the potential ending of the two blockbusters and they will shock you.

Everyone remembers the iconic death scene where Afzal dies while he is on a call with Farah in Pyare Afzal. He finally gets his love but dies at the same time. The drama made Hamza Ali Abbasi a superstar. But that is not how it was written. Apparently Afzal had to die while Farah was with him. Ayeza Khan was on the set and ready in makeup when Nadeem Baig decided that this should be over the phone and shot the scene with only Hamza in it.

Renowned writer and director Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar finally revealed why he had to kill off the popular character Afzal (played by Hamza Ali Abbasi) from the hit drama serial Pyare Afzal.

During a guest appearance on comedian Vasay Chaudhry’s talk show ‘Gup Shab’, Khalil opened up about the reasoning behind the dramatic plot twist.

Khalil shared the heartfelt motive behind his decision came from an unexpected source – Hamza Ali Abbasi himself. Khalil disclosed that Hamza had requested his character’s death, expressing his desire to remain eternally alive in the hearts of the audience.

In another anecdote, Khalil reminisced about the screening of the final episode of Pyare Afzal in a cinema. He shared that the emotional impact of the episode left two girls in tears, and Hamza Ali Abbasi advised them to leave the venue to avoid encountering enraged fans.

Nadeem Baig is a famous Pakistani director who has so far directed unlimited hit serials and films. Lately, his main focus is to direct the films but he has directed many hit plays in past. His famous dramas include Pyare Afzal, Mere Paas Tum Ho, Dil Lahi, Barat Series and many others. Sinf E Aahan and Kuch An Kahi are the recent popular dramas of Nadeem Baig. The director can easily be called a star-maker as he has given multiple chances to the struggling and new actors in his top-notch dramas. He also gave an unexpected chance to Hamza Ali Abbasi in “Pyare Afzal” after which he became a star actor.

Talking about it, he said, “I never compromised on the script but yes, sometimes you have to give the chance to a new actor even if you have made up your mind for someone else, and you know that the actor you want would also shine in the particular character. Well, Humayun was supposed to do the character of Afzal in Pyare Afzal, but I said to Humayun Saeed, ‘this role isn’t for you’, and he accepted it and that’s how it went to Hamza Ali Abbasi”.

IQRA AZIZ BEST DARAMA

 KHUDA AUR MUHABBAT

Actor Feroze Khan is pairing up with talented star Iqra Aziz for upcoming drama serial Khuda Aur Mohabbat Season 3 on Geo Entertainment. The drama serial is based on a novel written by Hashim Nadeem. In season 3, Iqra Aziz and Feroze Khan will play the lead roles.

People are excited for the release of drama serial as it has star-studded cast which includes Junaid Khan, Tooba Siddiqui, Rubina Ashraf, Sunita Marshall, Asma Abbas Usman Peerzada, Zain Baig and Sohail Sameer.

The host summarised her point saying that the bottom line is it’s okay for an actor to have the liberty to say no if they’re uncomfortable working with someone. “Of course!” Aziz responded. “I think that we live in an era where, whether it’s a woman or a man, working in this industry or anywhere, other than the choice of career, they have the right to say yes or no to however they want to work according to their comfort level and to who they’re comfortable working with.”

The interviewer then asked her if her take would be any different if in the future the allegations proved to be false in court. “I think we have to wait for that time then. We can only decide that then, we can’t decide before time thinking what if this happens, just based on assumptions,” replied the Suno Chanda actor.

When the host tried to dig into the matter some more, Aziz put a stop to it with an uncomfortable chuckle and asked him to leave it at that instead of going so deep into it.

In late October, Sultan presented emergency room reports and photos of her bruises in a Karachi family court as proof of abuse. Shortly after, Aziz released a public statement showing support for Sultan and victims of domestic violence. She announced that she was opting out of her project with Khan.

In addition, the actor will be playing a prominent role in the upcoming third installment of Khuda Aur Mohabbat alongside Iqra Aziz and Feroze Khan.

“I’m playing a typical landlord, who is a Punjabi,” Junaid shared about his character, adding that he has a mother, essayed by Hina Bayat, as well as a brother. “We share a healthy relationship and my character has kids too while the wife has passed away. He is a sober, positive man.”

He furthered that the story does have references to a man’s connection with his Creator in addition to his affiliation with mankind – similar to previous editions. “Your connection with God is stronger than any other connection in the world and this is what the drama revolves around. It talks about one’s transition from the love of people to the love of God,” he added.

In a clip making rounds on the internet, Imran teased that if the series continues with a fourth installment, the lead role might be taken over by a talented young actor. “It’s upto the producers but in the proposed cast uptil now, the boy (who would play the lead) is a very nice guy. He’s the producer’s son,” the Ehraam-e-Junoon actor talked about how the role might go to Haroon Kadwani.

“If he’s doing the role, I am very happy. But I would be similarly joyed if Feroze (Khan) does it too. He’s a very good actor, a very hard-working boy,” Imran put his two cents, expressing confidence in both potential leads.

Pakistani actress, Iqra Aziz garnered immense attention with her role as ‘Jiya’ in the 2018 romcom, Suno Chanda. The drama also starred the Pakistani singer and actor, Farhan Saeed as the male lead, ‘Arsal’. The lead couple received much love from the audience for their hilarious yet heartwarming camaraderie. The 26-year-old actress, who debuted in 2014, has worked in several popular dramas.

However, Iqra’s stint in the 2021 drama, Khuda Aur Muhabbat 3, alongside Pakistan actor, Feroze Khan, was much appreciated by the audience. The drama is one of the most-watched blockbuster dramas in the country’s showbiz. Iqra and Feroze’s chemistry in Khuda Aur Muhabbat led them to bag another drama as the lead couple.

RAMZAN SPECIAL

 CHUPKE CHUPKE

Pakistani actress Aymen Saleem recently delighted her fans by sharing a heartfelt moment from her wedding ceremony on her Instagram account.

The post featured a captivating pictures. She captioned: "Here’s to my forever."

The shared picture showcased Aymen radiating elegance, posing alongside her unidentified partner.

This announcement has left fans eager to know more about her partner, heightening curiosity among her followers as they eagerly anticipate further details about this momentous occasion in Aymen Saleem's life.

Writer Maliha Rehman shared that Sohai Ali Abro was originally cast as Meenu. The Adhi Gawahi actress even filmed for two weeks. But personal commitments got in the way, and she had to withdraw from the role.

Sohai Ali Abro is around half a decade younger than Ayeza Khan. If she stayed with the project all those complaining about Ayeza being too old for the character would have appeased.

However, the drama’s writer Saima Akram explained that as a woman that has repeatedly failed to clear her masters’ exam, Meenu is older than most can anticipate.

A lot has happened in Ramazan special Chupke Chupke over the weekend. The grand engagement for which Meenu and Fazi were waiting for ages was finally about to happen but things went South for the both of them. In a brutal turn of events, we found out that Meenu’s to-be husband was already married and had three childrenWe’re almost halfway down the Ramazan special play but till now we haven’t seen a hint of romance between the lead actors. It was becoming extremely frustrating to see that the leads actually shared the least number of scenes together.

Comedy-drama Chupke Chupke has created much debate online over its stereotypical portrayal of many characters but it’s not all bad. With criticism always comes a meme fest.

The serial is definitely sharing laughs even if it’s not with the show’s original content and as meme fodder. At the end of the day, we all appreciate the laughs.

Aymen Saleem joined the Pakistani drama industry last year and blew everyone’s mind with her performance in Chupke Chupke. Her character Mishi became overnight sensation and people were dying to see her in more projects. She however, announced that she is quitting the drama industry after just one project.

SEASON 2

 SUNO CHANDA

Now that viewers have such a wide variety of options, they tend to get confused most of the time about which one to prioritise as their first watch. All the more because viewers now have access to dramas from every country. To clear out that hassle, we have curated a list of the best binge-able watches for all the rom-com lovers out there.

Suno Chanda is the ultimate comfort rom-com for all its lovers out there. The story revolves around the lives of ‘Jiya’ and ‘Arsaal’ and their families. The two cousins are set to get married in an arranged set-up, but the duo join hands to plot against it as they ‘supposedly’ can’t stand each other. Watch the two fall in love in season 1.

Last season fans tuned in nightly to see sworn enemies Arsal (Farhan Saeed) and Jiya (Iqra Aziz) fight their way to love while living under one roof with a motley crew of a stereotypically zany joint family.

This season begins with the now-married Arsal and Jiya waking up the morning after their wedding with guns ablazing because Arsal spent the night snoring and is refusing to give Jiya her moun dekhai.

Some things are already refreshingly different this season. Farhan Saeed’s OST has been reworked. There are new romances and new characters (including a kite-flying, hookah-smoking Punjabi khala). And, to the utter joy of #Arjiya fans, the couple has a lot more chemistry-loaded, lovey dovey scenes.

Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed are back with the most loved comedy series of last year, Suno Chanda. Four episodes of the second season have been aired so far and although the drama has yet again garnered love and appreciation — the first episode is trending at number one spot on YouTube with over 3.7 million views — some fans are disappointed.

What triumphs all is that some of our most favourite characters are back. Jiya, Arsal, Shahana, Nazakat Ali, Joji and Jalal (played by Iqra Aziz, Farhan Saeed, Nadia Afgan, Sohail Sameer, Ali Safina and Adnan Shah Tipu respectively) are very much part of the second season. Writer Saima Akram Choudhry has introduced new characters — Pari and Mithoo (played by Arjumand Raheem and Raza Talish) — who are nice additions.

Although Arjumand Raheem doesn’t ‘look’ convincing as a Punjabi who hails from a village in Gujrat, unlike Nadia Afgan or Ali Safina, her dialogue delivery as Pari is spot on. For a moment one can’t seem to fathom that she is the same woman whose voice-overs we hear on almost all Pakistani TV commercials. Raza Talish as Mithoo is impressive; one can instantly fall in love over his naivety.

Hit sitcom Suno Chanda's writer Saima Akram Chaudhry, who, following the success of her most recent Ramazan offerings, declared that she will pen a third season for the Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed starrer if fans continued to shower the same love, has now clarified that another installment of the show will not be happening.

Urging her fans to look forward instead of the past, Saima started off by saying, "I am not writing Suno Chanda 3, I am not writing Chupke Chupke 2, I am not writing Ishq Jaleebi 2." In a message on her Instagram Stories, she went on to reveal, "I am writing Neeli Khoti, I am writing Chaand Tara, I am writing just a light mood romcom."

Asking everyone to be happy and stay away from seasons 2 or 3, she went on to reinstate that "season tou pehla he achcha hota hai," suggested that the rest are mostly attempts at milking views and ratings from already existing, successful narratives and formulas. "The rest only bank on high expectations and serve disappointment. Love you all," she concluded.

The beauty of Saima Akram’s writing is that she has kept true to her characters. Arsal and Ajiya are a complicated couple. From season 1, we witnessed Jiya and Arsal at their immature best, two characters that thrived by bickering with each other. It’s been said in Desi families many times that “Iski shaadi karwaa lo, khud ba khud zimidaari ka ehsaas hojaayega” (“Get him married, he’ll automatically learn how to be responsible”). This mentality does not hold true in practical life. If an individual is not mature, marriage will do little other than to throw an immature individual into a scenario that requires maturity. With Suno Chanda 2, this point is being laid out clearly for the viewer. Arsal and Jiya, the beloved lovebirds of the show, have not automatically changed their ways and learned to compromise simply because they signed a piece of paper and now share a bedroom. If anything, their inability to communicate effectively and their egos have driven a wedge in their relationship.

Ramadan is already here. In this pious month, people fast from dawn to sunset, abstaining from food and drink. Although there can be several fun things to do during this time, watching Pakistani TV shows can be the most exciting thing. Undeniably, on this occasion, such dramas become center of attraction for viewers beyond Pakistan's borders. Indian viewers find themselves glued to the screens, enjoying the shows. So, here we have listed a few Pakistani dramas that you can binge-watch during Ramadan. Aren't you all excited already? Without beating around the bush, let us dive in!

Needless to say, Suno Chanda is one of the most popular and hit Pakistani dramas, which garnered high viewership not only in Pakistan but other countries, including India. Farhan Saeed and Iqra Aziz as Arsal and Jiya will truly make your experience of watching the show lovely. Suno Chanda is an endearing tale of a couple who are cousins, and how their love story begins with hate.

Now that viewers have such a wide variety of options, they tend to get confused most of the time about which one to prioritise as their first watch. All the more because viewers now have access to dramas from every country. To clear out that hassle, we have curated a list of the best binge-able watches for all the rom-com lovers out there.

Pakistani actress Iqra Aziz is renowned for her authenticity. The star of Suno Chanda fearlessly embraces her imperfections, openly discusses challenging times, and often makes bold choices in both her personal and professional lives.

During a recent interview, Iqra Aziz shared an interesting tidbit. She confessed that she drew inspiration from Priyanka Chopra's wedding attire when designing her own stunning outfit for her special day.

On her husband Yasir Hussain's chat show The Pick & Drop Show, Iqra Aziz shared her thoughts on her wedding dress. The actress was heavily trolled for wearing a similar wedding outfit to Priyanka Chopra. On the show, Iqra spoke about the same and admitted to taking inspiration from the International star Priyanka Chopra.

She mentioned that until Priyanka wore a red-on-red outfit, it wasn't a thing. She mentioned that after the Aitraaz actress wore the outfit, it became a trend and she wanted to wear a similar attire for her big day. Aziz added that she informed her designer to pan out something similar but wanted a full sleeve so that people wouldn't say that the entire look was copied.
